What Youtube (or other video site) channels enhance your experience of AE? I searched the forums using both internal and external search but did not find a topic for comprehensive lists. Let's share and discover new content!

Drachinifel

Probably the best historical naval channel on YouTube. Features regular, in-depth content on a range of topics. Covers naval history from the age of sail through WW2, although WW2 tends to feature heavily in the content. Answers questions from viewers during a weekly show called “The Drydock” (questions are asked as replies to a pinned comment on the latest video).


Greg’s Airplanes and Automobiles

This channel is the counterpart to Drachinifel for aircraft, albeit at a slower pace of content creation. If you want to understand (WW2) aircraft performance from an engineering perspective, look no further. Expect frequent discussions of horsepower and manifold pressure regarding altitude with charts aplenty to accompany the deep discussion.


Battleship New Jersey

After its decades of service, the Iowa class US battleship New Jersey is now a museum and memorial. The curator of the museum has created a fantastic channel covering many topics including naval history, naval tradition, and coverage of many technical “nuts-and-bolts” topics of the ship’s equipment. The armor belt, the ship’s radar, and everything between is covered; they have a 60k+ ton prop, and they are not afraid to use it!


WW2TV

The strength of this channel is in the number and quality of guests who appear on the show to discuss all aspects of WW2 history. This channel is a great way to learn a lot and to find authors and resources for further inquiry into particular topics.


Battle 360 Playlist by the History Channel (story of the USS Enterprise)

This TV series originally aired on the History Channel. The founder of Enterprise Rent-a-Car who happened to serve on the USS Enterprise during WW2 funded this project. After watching it, you will understand why the Enterprise was the most decorated US Navy ship of WW2 and why the name was used in Star Trek. The extensive service history of the ship also happens to give a good overview of the war in the Pacific from beginning to end.


Armoured Carriers

This channel does an admirable job of covering the war in the Pacific from the perspective of the British Royal Navy all while showing an extensive amount of historical footage. It is an extension of the Armoured Carriers website (www.armouredcarriers.com). If you want to understand the pluses and minuses of armored flight deck carriers, look no further.


Military History Visualized

As the name implies, this channel heavily features the use of infographics and other visual aids when discussing different topics. Although the channel tends to focus on the European theater, its coverage of the Pacific war should not be missed. The video “Why Japan had NO Chance in WW2” should be the link given to every new AE player when they ask which side they should play when tackling the grand campaign for the first time. The US Navy/Japanese Navy losses videos are also interesting to compare one’s own results in AE to the historical record at a point in time.

Kings and Generals

This channel is producing a series on the war in the Pacific. A very good high-level overview of the war with great production values.

Although there are not as many videos here as some other channels, the channel does a good job of providing details of particular battles.


Military Aviation History

Very good coverage of many aviation topics. Although this channel does not focus exclusively on the Pacific, over the years it has produced a good stable of high-quality content.


TIK History

These tend to be shorter videos packed with insightful information. Great for sampling niche topics covering all of WW2.

For casual watching/relaxing - this channel currently features a “let’s play” style campaign of Silent Hunter IV where the creator plays the fictional career of a US Navy submarine commander in the Pacific.


Bonus: PressCorps Radio

This Twitch channel streams a fictional “war radio” channel primarily for the benefit of the online game Foxhole. The music tends to be a decent option (albeit not strictly historically accurate) for playing AE and also features comic relief in the form of intermissions and fictitious commercials.

I am surprised that nobody has mentioned Strategy Gaming Dojo. He made a 13 part tutorial for the game, which is really great and easy to follow and has a Let's Play as well as a PBEM going.
