I tried the Imgur thing for creating screenshots and I couldn't get it to work. Someone here posted on several different methods of grabbing screenshots but I can't find that thread now. Thanks in advance for your help!

The Print Screen key on your keyboard can take a screenshot. Depending on the keyboard shortcut you use, you can save the screenshot as a PNG image file or copy it to your clipboard so you can paste it into any application. Even something as basic as MS Paint will work as an application to save it as an image file.

I use the free software NIVIDIA GEforce. Just select a key bind (I use F1) but any will do.

I use MSpaint to manipulate the images...adding text and other graphical symbols lets say to illustrate a battlefield etc.

Getting the image to fit on this forum requires that you save the image as a JPEG, and you will need to resize the image Maximum of 850p either horizontally or vertically. When you want to try to upload an image to this forum..check the box 'Embed picture in post' first, then 'Click here to upload'.
You wont see the image but you will see any text that you wrote. Once you click OK...it should all show together in a few seconds.

Hope that helps.

Image BB works very smoothly for me with an absolute minimum of bullcrap interfering with your desired task. [They will occ. insert a ad into one of your created pic links, but trivial to delete it]

Oh, if using Image BB choose the "BBC code full linked" option, WITHOUT using the forum's "image" button; just paste the link in and you're good.

I finally did it! For me, it's difficult to reduce the JPEG image from 3.96 MB to 200KB. Thats a 1/40 reduction and a lot of hit and miss. Matrix Forums needs to definitely update it's tech. I played WiTP from 2004-2014 and uploading screen shots from the primitive tech back then was a no-brainer.

I apologize, it's a 1/20 reduction.

Good job. Yeah it took me a ton of hours to figure out this dinosaur of a site...and this is coming from a dinosaur
