In the Vichy France thread, I have missed this sentence:
https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=5118039

quote:

The reason for these questions is the Axis caused all of VF NA to surrender by capturing Algeris and then they sailed troops from France in TRANSPORTS (no German warships involved) to the Atlantic side of Morocco and landed them without any interference from the British fleets stationed at Gibraltar.

Do you mean that German troop transports can pass the strait of Gibraltar whereas the German or the Italian navy is blocked if Gibraltar is owned by UK?
Is there the same problem with Italian troop transports and Gibraltar?

If this problem exists with Gibraltar. What about the Suez canal? Is it possible for German troop transports or Italian troop transports to enter the Suez canal?

I am away from my computer right now but if you could, or someone could test this, I think this is something to fix.

Thanks

And perhaps, if the Kerch strait can be tested too with German, Italian, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Romanian troop transports if the strait is owned by Russia.

All right, I have checked Kerch strait with German, Italian, Hungarian, Bulgarian and Romanian unescorted troop transports, no problem at all.

Germans and Italian unescorted troop transports can't pass Gibraltar or Port Said if on Allies side. No problem then.
I think I misread the sentence. Germans were coming from the Atlantic coast of France and if the UK fleet is in port, yes it won't intercept.

Yes that is correct. The corps left ports on the Atlantic from France and landed them in Atlantic ports in Morocco. All because Algeria surrendered over 600 miles away. Without the Allies being able to do a damn thing, Total fantasy.

Don't worry, with a unit in Rabat, things will change.

I doubt that a unit in Rabat will fix the issues unless all of Morocco stays Allied. As the Germans can still transport troops to the other ports in Morocco and pretty easily crush whatever unit is in Rabat.

As an Allies player, with Vichy NA still existing, this is your role to patrol with your navy. Don't put your fleets in port. They are not useful here.
Same thing for Vichy Syria, perform some patrols there.
Same thing for Greece, perform some patrols there.

That would be great except the UK does not have enough ships to do all of that. It would allow the Axis a chance to defeat the fleets in detail.

The game has no way to react to ships moving from ports. To make things worse, no way to even see ships massing to transport troops.

Also, the Germans have a massive transport supply chain from France to Morocco and the ONLY thing the Allies can do is blockade ports at Morocco? Somehow they cannot find the massive number of transports coming from France to Morocco to provide supply to all the Axis troops there? Noooooo. We can only find these transports when we are 4 hexes away from a port. So we can get blasted by any LBAs that happen to be trying to protect said ports. Plus send the entire German navy to Morocco too without the Allies being aware that the fleet is leaving port, much less sailing around Northern England, by Scoppa Flow no less.

The land system works really well, but the naval system is crap.
