If aircraft have active SARH missile which it guides,
(especially if crew proficiency set to high/ace)
they should try to maintain lock on target all time, even when hostile missile going straight at them.
Basically defense "crankingly", not turning away completely breaking lock

You can say - just simply disable "Automatic evasion",
issue here is that if your flight have less capable missiles in terms of range,
and they have active missile from fighters/sam at them they don't evade and you need to seriously micromanage them

I'm not quite sure what you are asking for. Is this covered in the BVR logic in ROE. Or do those get overridden in defensive mode?

Also, might want to consider putting requests for new features and options in the request thread and not in the tech support thread. Might get more of the right kind of attention.

"They shouldn't"? Says who?

I've examined this problem when developing my series of BVR Quick Battles.

Evasion maneuvers include a violent notch to "beam" the incoming missiles and an altitude change. So, dodging hostile missiles means you can't reliably maintain lock for your own missiles, unless your radar cone is more than 180 degrees, which it is usually not in the SARH era. Thus, SARH missile combat is often a game of "chicken" where the first one to shot and/or the last one to start evasion has an advantage. For a while around the end of the Cold War, the data link technology on the R-27 series (AA-10) gave Russian-equipped units an advantage. But ultimately, the problem was addressed by the development of active radar missiles like the AIM-120 and R-77. The OP is arguably WHY they were developed...

I think a lot of the questions from the OP, who seems to be new to the game and the forum, should just be questions asking if/why things work the way they do and not technical support questions.

And feature requests should in the feature request thread. But I would spend a little more time understanding the game and the requests already made before throwing out a lot of change requests.

They're a pain to deal with in the Northern Fury scenarios. I used to use single missiles to force evasion, but since the update that added the AA-10 datalink, this is usually no longer viable.
