Sad when a store doesn't want to sell their games.

Figured with the sale I'd try WitPAE, but neither Discover nor AE card went thru: Just says 'Error: Cart'...and constantly times out when I have to wait 5 minutes to try again.

So I'm done, it's one thing to learn a cool new micro-heavy game... it's another to fuss with a merchant. Good luck in 2022.

One fact remains - others have successfully bought and downloaded the program, ergo, there is something in what you are trying that is not working.

I easily went to the site: https://www.matrixgames.com/game/war-in-the-pacific-admirals-edition , accepted cookies and went into the "Store" tab. It did not have a "Purchase" button so I tried the "Add to wish list". At that point it asked me to log in to my account - meaning it knew all along that I was a Matrix member. Being a member with your credit card info on the site is all you need to make a purchase, AFAIK.

So my recommendation is to update your account with your credit card number, go to the site and sign in, then see what it does. If you block cookies, it probably will not work. Deleting old cookies per witpqs does not mean never accepting cookies, I think.

Another thing - if you get dissuaded from getting the game because of the issues with making a purchase, you might find the frustrations with learning the game are too much for your patience level. It does require you to be bulldog persistent and determined to solve whatever it throws at you!

oof there BBfanboy! You must be fun to play with, you see a giant hole there, and say like "I think it may be a trap, but there is bait! I'm in!" and jump in head first lol. Thanks for that laugh.

On a more serious note, this does look like a fun game that I came across years ago but was 90USD at the time. I was fine playing my AGEOD games and modded HOI4 but noticed how the price had come down and figured I'd give it a go. But hey, I am not going to force anyone to take my money nor put in hours to self-tech support basic web transactions, so good luck and have fun. If you can BBfanboy :)

And instead of making the complaint to the company, comes to a forum to spout his problems.

A bit of a problem where the vast majority of readers have succeeded to get a download where he has failed!

My bad, thought this was the 'Matrix Games Forums'.

And that perhaps they'd like to know that at least some measure of their online shop is not functional to people wanting to throw money their way. Especially one who is using a standard browser and has no problem using online vendors every day including Shopify and GoDaddy small business accounts. As a small business guy myself, I figured I'd want to know as about 90+% of online customers who don't complete their transactions never bother letting anyone know what went sideways, so I'd help out a niche supplier of entertainment goods for fellow nerdy milsim types.

But apparently, I was wrong.

I'm out, if I could lock the page I would, but apparently what passes for moderation around here will have to do it. Good luck in 2022.

Hi Victus,

I'm sorry you had trouble with our store. I can tell you it's working fine in general, though it clearly had an issue with your order. Only our store support could help with that in terms of having access to be able to see why those cards did not go through. Your best bet is to e-mail support@matrixgames.com with your order details and they will be able to help and make sure you are able to complete your order.

Regards,

- Erik

Sorry if I sounded harsh! I have seen several newbies of late who seem to come from the place of 'instant gratification' that the ease of doing things online has created. At the first sign of having to puzzle out a problem, they went on a rant and bailed on a great game they had already bought. This is very frustrating to those who have spent time and efforts trying to help them through the quirks of getting this great legacy game up and running.

I was suggesting you not spend the bargain amount on the game unless you think you can handle a myriad of problems the game throws at you. The enjoyment of the game comes from hundreds of small successes and a few big ones during play. But players do get set-backs too!

I agree the game is not for everyone, so if you want to decide not to get it, that is your choice. But I hope you do because it is thoroughly engaging once you get started! Whatever you decide - good luck and Happy New Year!

Especially when a person goes to the game forum to rant instead of contacting the companies support people whose job it actually is to help . . .

You are not the only one, see here:

https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4910131

Seems MG needs to fix some issues, also w/ games that are still expensive when not on sale.

/even if OT I report this here:

Ageod games are listed here in the forum so I guess MG is also responsible for them?
I have 2 of these games, one bought at steam the other while in a normal shop.
I decided not to use steam anymore and de-installed it, how can I get the game now working (in this case "to end all wars")
I tried to install a mod for the other games and it gave errors, so de-installed the mod, but now the game does not work anymore. I tried to re-download and re-install the game (I registered the game at steam too but not bought there) but it sill does not work (in this case "ACW2"). I especially like the civil war game and wanted to play it again but does not load anymore.

/OT off

But looks like they are more interested in "pinup" pics
