I know there are a few recent appreciation threads, but I did want to give the WitE2 dev team a true THANK YOU, specifically, for dramatically improving the user interface for those of us using 1440p / high DPI setting monitors. The improvement is truly night and day from where the game was at launch. It's in fantastic shape now.

When I bought WitE2 at launch, I really couldn't play it on native resolution. I tried using tools like ZoomIt, but it just wasn't a comfortable experience. I wound up shelving the game for months. When WitE2 came out on Steam, I figured, 'why not re-install and see what improvements have been made, if any.'

I'm really just stunned at *how much better* the GUI is now, using the Display Scaling Setting of "Auto 125%". The fonts are sharp and crisp, easy to read, even the quite small fonts (and I say that as someone with less than great eyesight!). It all looks very polished and very pleasing to the eye.

Getting the GUI right for 1440p + higher DPI setting seems like a continual struggle: I still can't really get Command: Modern Ops to my liking, for example. I also have to scale up UI for Pdox games like Europa Univ.IV and Hearts of Iron IV, and the effect is noticeably blurry and far from ideal.

So again, Thank You for going the extra mile to improve WitE2 for those of us with less than stellar eyesight on higher-res monitors! It makes *all* the difference in terms of playability and enjoyment.

Here here! Could not agree more. You are using the same settings I am except I use 175% and the UI is so clear, large, and easy to read now. Wish they would add these UI changes back to WITW. It makes such a HUGE difference! And man if only WITPAE had this UI as well! Kudos to the Devs!

Glad it's working out so well. This was all Pavel's doing as he managed to wrestle with our old game engine and add in the in-game scaling. It was several months of work so really happy to hear you can see the benefits.

Thank you Pavel!!

Any chance this could be easily applied back to WITW as well since I am assuming it is the same old game engine? Or would this take a lot more work again? I know WITPAE would be impossible to do though haha...

Unfortunately it would be a lot of work, and given how WitE2 is keeping us fully occupied, I doubt Pavel will be able to go back to WitW.

@Tanaka - it was worth a try (coming from someone who thinks WitW is a superb, highly underrated game)

Kudos to Pavel -- I hope he feels his months of hard work was justified -- it's clear I'm not the only one who appreciates how much his efforts have improved WitE2!

Yes definitely worth an ask but understandable! And yes they are both great games! Agreed many kudos to Pavel!
