Status: offline 		I have now heard from at least 3 people that had issues with the logistics system, that someone told them to "put the rail station one hex outside the city.

I want to make it clear:
That does not help.

In fact, it sabtoages the very purpose of having a rail station.
Rail stations belong into the city, so you do not need truck points to get stuff too and from it!

This advice is actively hurting people that try to learn the system. Stop spouting it without cleary indication for the very rare, very specific circumstance in which it might help*

*That being to upgrade the station to High Speed Rail

Do you mean post 13?

He is showing injection. And of course has a Railhead in the town. No issue.
And he mentions very clearly when it is nessesary, not as a general rule.

Could be. It is definitely the best possible source for this thus far.

If there is a railroad going from rail station A to -station/-head B, any logistics users can make full use of the rail LP on any hex between A and B. There's no need for a railhead on the specific hex where the logistics users are taking logistics from the network, and no need for trucks if the logistics users are on (or in the case of units, close enough to) the rails. It doesn't matter if the rail station is outside the city hex, so long as the city is between any two rail stations or a rail station and a railhead.

The point of that advice is to make rail points still go through the city tile, and at the same time allow you to inject from several more rail stations, because rail I is immensely cheaper than upgrades. It is a good advice if you make sure rail visits city tile on the way out of the station.
