As far as I understand the Soviet 23rd Army was in position along the old Finnish/Soviet border in the Karelian Isthmus after it was pushed back by the Finns early in the war. It stayed there right up to the period that the Soviet began their offensive in that region against the Finns, maybe in 1944.

At the moment this Army is in the Northern Front box. This ignores several crucial aspects:

a) Additional supply deliveries required in this region to feed this Army, particularly after the Finns cut the rail line north of Lake Ladoga.
b) Potentially much higher Soviet losses if Leningrad is taken. The 23rd Army would effectively be trapped along with the defenders of Leningrad. Looking at the TOE from WitE1 in the Stalingrad to Berlin scenario (Nov 1942), it is about 70000 men and 1,400 guns.
c) The Finns in the Karelian Isthmus are freed up to pressure the remainder of the Northern Front. The Soviets should thus also take a hit with increased TB requirements. Likewise, as has been suggested elsewhere the Finnish TB requirements should be reduced.

Point a. is effectively already modelled into the game via playing testing. Bringing on-map a frozen Army in this region would likely cause a supply imbalance in the region.

It would be nice to see an event for points b. and c. in the game.
