Is there a way of adding a small boat (RHIB) to a ship which doesn't normally have that capacity - i.e. a civilian cargo ship.

The obvious work around is a Special Action in which case I would need to add the cargo with lua as well but it might be slicker just to add the boats and the cargo to a mothership.

Thanks

B

If we're talking boat units (not boats as cargo), not if the host boat doesn't have the necessary docking facility in the database attached. The follow up of is there a way to add docking facility to a unit that doesn't normally have one, via lua or other normal\official means, no, I don't think so.

That said there is purely technically speaking, a way to get it done, but the unit must pre-exist in the scene at start, the extra dock facilities might not survive a deep-rebuild, and I'd need the file itself to 'enhance' the unit in question properly (once enhanced, you can keep editing as normal). So basically no, but pm me if critical for a scene your working on and the unit meets the aforementioned requirement.

att: Test_TankerWithROVs_edited2.zip db3k492 (Commericial tanker enhanced with a Davit and ROV facilities)

Thank you KnightHawk. The test tanker did not survive export/import so I suspect that you're right about the fragility of the solution.

No worries, it is not critical and I will use the Special Action work around.

Appreciate the help.
