It would be helpful if TOE% was more readily at hand so that I can determine which units to put on refit, while seeing their position on the map and if I can/should pull them back from the line, given the status of other units nearby. Therefore, either a TOE% soft factor, or this number on the unit information panel on the right hand side, would make this process much more efficient and saves a lot of clicks to check each unit individually.

There is also the CR which easily shows this when you select a HQ and the the CR show subordinates. It will show all TOEs. Also the CR let’s your sort the entire on map TOEs and or SUs. The CR is a very powerful tool.

I think CR is better for this purpose than soft factor. The issue with soft factor is you can also see soft factor for enemy units. Do we really need more intel on enemy units than you can already see from that?

Soft factors of the enemy units should be hidden. All of them. You can not know how many fuel/ammo/food do they have. Same with equipment if this feature would be added.

I know that the CR is a powerful tool, but my point was that that takes me away from the map view. It becomes too abstract in the case I mentioned. But I sure use it from time to time for many things.

Soft factors for enemy units - sometimes I think it shows too much info, but after close contact with an enemy unit you should be able to tell a bit about their experience and moral and so on. The main problem with breaking FOW for me is what I can see during the AI turn.

the way I do it - and this is just something that over time makes sense to me

do the air phase etc

at start of the ground phase, go into the CR and using my own rules (which are very situational) mark for refit everything that is under a given TOE, SU go to reserve or Stavka/OKH.

I then go to the map and use the unit mode display. All these for refit show up bordered in blue - so I move them off the front line back to a depot to refit.

I then do the turn. At the end of the turn I do another review in the CR and maybe pull up a few more that I can spare and would gain from refit, so they are now blue and if they have MP I pull them back

not claiming this is the way to go, but it gets things sorted for me so I know who is slated for a refit.

That mapmode is also handy for spotting units due to be withdrawn etc

Wow, that is exactly what I do except I take everything off of refit first and then refit my chosen TOE issues.
