I just tried to bomb Gibraltar with two Italian Tac bombers & one ground attack bombers. All the the bombers have vanished without any record on the combat log. I only noticed after I ended my turn, I loaded up the auto-save file to see what happened but it only shows one ground bomber again without any record on the combat log.

When I attacked with the bombers I could not select any other units after the attack, to fix this I had to select any of the top menu buttons.

The attacks was from Vichy North Africa.

I have seen units vanish before...though rare not air. I have had units moving vanish...and that hex becomes a black hole...as I can send another unit and it will vanish.
I remember Al putting in a fix and I have not see it recently.

THOUGH I still do see a similar thing where say I can not place a unit...until I select a different top menu..and switch back.
I have had that happen with bombing before too.

Were you bombing land or naval?

Yes, I have seen this. If a land unit vanishes during an attack, there is a record in the combat log.
But, if an air unit vanishes during an attack, there is no record in the combat log.

It was a land attack. It's all a bit spooky.

Vichy NA was on Axis or Allies side?

You probably attacked with a low strength air unit and it got blown out of the sky.

You just didn't notice it was that low. I have done that myself. He probably had a lot of AA there.

They were at full strength & I don't think there's any AA there. In the reports tab it says they were destroyed but they were still shown on the map before I ended my turn.

If you have the turn before they died can you send it to me.

I have had low strength units die but not full ones. So something is off here. You are the 1st to lose a full strength unit.

I only managed to get this save after the turn when the two tac bombers disappeared.

If you end your turn & go to the Italian ground attack bomber & bomb Gibraltar you'll get all kind of different outcomes, this picture is after an attack on Gibraltar.

That bomber has zero strength. This might be a counter error. The methods just don't blow away 20 points of strength. 0 / 20 means it has zero left.

It is weird that is is showing stats for a full strength.

Anyways I will look into this today.

I found the issue. The A.I. put 122 AA guns in Gibraltar. How I am not sure since the code limits it to 6.

I fixed the scenario. PM me your email address and I will email the game back to you. Another bug on the list. A new one I have never seen.

I was looking through the code and I can't find where the A.I. puts 122 guns in a spot. I don't know how it is doing it.

I could not find how they did it. Everything that moves AA for the A.I. is hit by the limiter.

If it happens again send me the game file.
