Will the game offer any MP options, or in the future DLCs? I really like playing coop against the AI with a friend. I do that a lot with Stellaris. Would be cool if you can do that with this game as well. Any support for this option would be appreciated!

The game is developed as a single-player game but they have included code so they can make it multi-player at a later date. It will likely be well suited for co-op or semi competitive play but not truly competitive play as the game is not balanced for multi-player in general.

I do hope we will see multi-player as I too used to play Stellaris with my son and we both enjoyed that immensely. I would not like multi-player to dominate game balance though, that would be bad for this game.

Jorgen, I fully agree with you. Would be cool to play this game with my sons as well at some point (they are bit too young now). I also agree with your point that the game should not be endlessly balanced.

We can't promise multi-player as it would still be a huge amount of work, but we built DW2 so that it would be possible in the future and if DW2 does well it's certainly something we'd like to see in a future expansion.

Erik, thanks for the reply. I understand that you have to make choices. I wonder how much interest there would in DW MP options by the player base. I understand it would also be a cost/benefit type of decision.

I am confident it will have the nessesary demand.

I will be honest:
If it had just been the original game with a modern UI - without even a single gameplay change, without modding improovements, without any option for later coop - I still would buy it without a question!
As I think 95% of all people that liked DW1 would. Which is a markedly bigger figure then people that actually bought DW1, because the UI made it not playable for them.

DW1 is such a good game, Stellaris 1.0 was part DW1, part Sword of the Stars FTL, part some experients for future Paradox Mechanics. And the only things they got rid off are the SOTS parts*.

*In retrospect, 3-7 FTL Systems in the same game - nevermind the same galaxy map - is just not that good of a premise.
