I am sure this is pure operator error, but each time I try to launch a manual attack (ctrl+F1), the the populated selectable targets appears to be the ground under the target, not the target itself, so I need to go and manually select the target in the manual attack window. This is minor, but increases workload substantially, and seems an oversight. If I am mouse-over a target, that target should populate into the selectable target(s) field. I am sure I am doing something wrong, so please educate me. Thank you.

Ctrl-F1 is Bearing Only Launch, which can be used for some items such as ITALD or MALD decoys, torpedoes, or ARM missiles.

Shift-F1 is a manual attack. After selecting the unit you want to perform the attack, press Shift-F1 then select the target and it will bring up a window allowing you to allocate weapons from your platform to use.

Ctrl-F1 !!! Wow ! I didn't know about this command ! Thank ou so much for mentioning it
quote:

BOL: Bearing Only Launch. BOL capable weapons may be
launched down a bearing toward a target. Most BOL weapons
have an activation point where their internal sensors are
enabled. The activation point is the point selected when
ordering the launch. With the launching unit selected, use
Keyboard Command for BOL launch is CTRL + F1, and select
the activation point on the map.

While a little harsh, I'm kind of stunned that a basic concept of combat is unknown to anyone that's played the game for longer than a month.

I apologize for the rude comment. I actually learned a bunch from his videos on this game, although I am not sure to understand the will to play that game when you don't know the difference between a Silkworm and a Harpoon, it is beyond me, but probably a different generation (I am old).

Yes, I'm surprised myself . They are plenty of mysteries in the universe. And we even didn't start discussing string theory

I did well with just shift-F1 but now I realize that BOL is implemented I will do even better :-)
