Delivering P-40s to land bases by carrier. If a B-25 can do it why not P-40s?
https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=p-40+taking+off+from+carrier&view=detail&mid=33B049599E62800919BC33B049599E62800919BC&FORM=VIRE

Interesting! I didn't know that?

From what I've read the P-40's held the line until the modern fighters were available. At least with the Army Air Force?

Speaking of floatplanes..... The A6M2N

...and while in floatplane mode, the Arado 196 was a nice looking aircraft.

As a kid I bought a model of HMS Iron Duke. Thought she looked awesome. And still think she got the look.

Fixed that for you

I don’t think I’ve seen the picture of the two of them before - it’s normally the shot of a B-25 taking off from Hornet that accompanies raid stories. Nice.

So I *did* have the name wrong. My bad :)

I've never seen a pic of them together either.

The USS New York is the sister ship of the USS Texas - moored at San Jacinto. See my posts 98 and 100 for how it looks now.
