Sending some Fletchers for their April '45 upgrades. Can't really afford to wait for them so can't upgrade all of them at once.

• The troops on Amami Oshima need to rest, and now that we have base forces on the island we must also relieve the over stacking. The USMC division will be pulled out. We are also running low on supply on Amami Oshima so must remedy that.

• Naval search will begin from Amami Oshima tomorrow covering farther into the Yellow Sea, reaching into the Sea of Japan, and strengthening search just south of the Home Islands.

• Rain over the Home Islands tomorrow.

• 1,544 AV at Nago.

• 1,673 AV at Naha. Two of the divisions are well recovered but one has a large percentage of squads to recover, as do the regiments. We will wait one more day for Disruption to drop even further, get whatever additional squad recovery we can and then make an assault.

• Still recovering and resupplying near Tsuyung.

• Still maneuvering around Kunming.

• An enemy unit formerly just east of Kunming is now seen moving on the road to Chungking. Recon of Chungking has faded for the moment, but I am wondering if the area was partly stripped to provide troops for elsewhere.

• Our troops between Tuyun and Kweiyang are moving on Kweiyang, despite high Disruption from the river crossing. I wonder if they should press on to Chungking after that?

• Tomorrow the last division will enter Canton, assault the day after. Tactical air strikes begin tomorrow.

• The addition of Nelson to a bombardment group and the use of the RN fast battleships made a difference. Notice the return of Richelieu!

• The Marines have been lifted off of Amami Oshima and are heading south. Over stacking is reduced but still more than +60%; that will have to do until the hold outs are cleared.

• The Imperials made fighter sweeps over Amami Oshima but it looks like our guys got the better of the situation.

• Thunderstorms predicted over the Home Islands tomorrow. Manpower nighttime strikes ordered on Yokohama/Yokosuka. There are 269 B-29's ready, including 104 B-29B within Normal range (36x 500 pound bombs each).

• 1,550 AV at Nago.

• 1,333 AV at Naha. Not sure how long until the next assault, but I think at least 3 days.

• Airfield bombing is switching away from Canton because I'm sure we will capture it tomorrow. There is still a hex side open to the defenders, so now we'll see if they have a retreat path.

• Troops near Tsuyung will recover.

• Maneuvering near Kunming.

• Lots of Enemy troops at Chengtu. Were they expecting an airborne assault from India?

• All three units in Kweiyang, now they wait for the Aus Bde to join them in 8 days.

• 3,194 AV at Canton. Assault will continue.

• Changes afoot near Tsuyung. We have placed a unit on the road between Tsuyung and Kunming. We also have a unit (only a ghost of a unit) heading from the mountains to the road NE of Tsuyung (that road heads to Chengtu). The enemy is responding by moving one or more units from Tsuyung to the NE, and by moving one or more units (likely all 4) from the defensive position NW of Tsuyung toward Tsuyung itself. Our units near Tsuyung will wait one day for supply flow to catch up then resume attacking now that the IJA have given up their field fortifications.

• Our units SW of Kunming will complete crossing the mountains to make the road just SE of Kunming in 4 days.

• Our 18th Aus Bde will move to a blocking position near Kunming instead of to the aid of attackers at Kweiyang. I think they can make a quicker difference to the breaking of the enemy positions near Kunming. A motorized Bde just railed into Tuyun will replace their numbers at Kweiyang.

• Recon shows about 53,000 enemy retreated from Canton. While they will be in the open for tactical air strikes for quite a while, it's possible the force still reckons 800 AV and could pose a serious threat to our lines of communication.

• I thought Canton's defense would last much longer and therefore a smaller force would be retreated. We will send most of our forces in Canton to make a river crossing shock attack, and then another if necessary (the enemy will be forced across a river by the first attack).

• 4,871 AV at Singapore. For the attack on April 18 we had 6,175 AV, for the attack on May 02 we had 5,555 AV. Assuming no rebuilding, current fortifications are level 6. We will wait until we get to at least 5,500 AV, perhaps 6,000, before the next assault. Moving some recovered and mostly filled out combat engineer units back into Singapore to help out with that.

Philippines

• The troops are loaded, we are waiting for some carriers on their way to provide cover (they will refuel at Manado tomorrow).

China

• Attack near Tsuyung tomorrow.

• Maneuvers around Kunming nearing completion.

• The 18th Aus Bde is now moving westward on the primary road. If not interrupted they should be to their blocking position in 5 days.

• We have aircraft operating out of Tuyun against Kweiyang.

• For some reason there were no tactical air strikes against the enemy ex-Canton even though targeting was retained. I have reset the targeting.

• The ground units are on the march to the river crossing.

India, Burma, Thailand, Indochina

Japan, Korea, Manchuria, Russia

Since you started bombarding Naha, you have destroyed quite a few guns. That reduction in firepower should help your GIs a bit.
