Not too many choices here:

DE 700 – Italy: Deploy Graziani To Abyssinia Or Libya? A 50/50 call. Holding onto IEA is nigh on impossible if the Allies attack it. I typically choose Libya.
DE 701 – Italy: Complete The Roma Battleship Or Convert Her To An Aircraft Carrier? By 1943 Italy is often under threat. I usually take the Battleship.
DE 702 – Italy: Form an Italian Expeditionary Force? Yes. Good value. The HQ is useful to boost Supply. Just be wary of leaving Italians in Russia when surrender is close. When Italy surrenders any territory held by Italian forces reverts to Russia. This can leave big gaps in your supply network.
DE 703 – Italy: Deploy II Corps in Abyssinia Or Italy? Linked to DE 700 but having the additional Corps in IEA will slow the Allies down.
DE 704 – Italy: Target Allied Ports with Prince Borghese’s Human Torpedoes? Yes. Nice & cheap and can occasionally deliver.
DE 706 – Italy: Continue through the Gibraltar Strait (from East to West)? Your call.
DE 707 – Italy: Continue through the Gibraltar Strait (from West to East)? Your call.
DE 708 – Italy: Declare War on Greece? I used to say no to this but if you co-ordinate the event with an attack by Germany it is well worth while. There aren’t too many events that boost Italian morale.

Thoughts?

DE 701: See my comment on the German CV in the other thread. I see that thing basically as a radar station (with enough long range tech). 2 Naval bombers + 2 CVs and the European Axis can do great surveillance in all of the North Sea, Channel, Bay of Biscay and the western Med. Imho tactical awareness is just soooo valuable.

This is great for reference, Pete.
About DE708: If you take event, will this increase Russian/US war readiness? Or does it come for "free"?

Thanks. I believe there is no increase in anyone's mobilisation if you take this option. Invading Yugoslavia on the other hand sees a big hike for Russia.

I think it increases the USA mobilisation by 3-5%

But I might be wrong, if I remember correctly each Axis DoW increases the USA by 3-5%

I track Allied mobilisation in my games. This is one of the exceptions. No increase in US or USSR mobilisation if you allow Italy to DW.

Yes, but getting those CVs requires an awful lot of MPPs that could be used for other things that are potentially more useful, and using them risks them getting sunk

Imho it's well worth those resources to not be blind, but I do generally tend to go nuts on tactical awareness...

I can see the value in the Axis naval bombers, and possibly going ahead with the German CV, but the Italian CV doesn't seem as good a deal, especially as the Italians generally can't afford to invest so much in air tech
