Actually, Raver is just being gracious. Because the game was cut short, technically it is "incomplete", but in reality we all know who was going to win . .. Although I think I was extremely unlucky, I had lost 12 ships to Raver's 33. however only one of his lost ships was a cv, while 6 of mine were. As the IJN, I'd have a problem surrendering, much preferring to die with honour. As the USN however, without 6 cvs, and having taken a three beatings with my surface fleet (Raver's port bombing and cv attacks on my surface ships were actually much more effective than reported) I pinned my last hopes on my heavy bombers. They launched 1 raid at lunga. 80 b17s went on that raid, and I lost 19. That is almost 3 months worth of replacements. It was really only a matter of time before Raver caught some of my transports with his cvs and made sure my offensive options were all over (in doing so could either sit back, bulid bases and laugh at my inability to supply bombers, or select an autovictory target and wipe me out. Would like to add my thanks to Raver's - excluding any kiwis that might be reading. Especially kiwis who think that they are going to win the World Cup (yes - you know who you are! ;) ) - pretty soon Raver and I'll be back with more tales of violence and gore since I can't really leave the question about who is the greatest up in the air now can I????. If there is any USN player that has lost 6 cvs (without inflicting aprpeciable loss on the ijn cv fleet) and has gone on to draw or win the game somehow, be sure to post it somewhere I'll see it! I was racking my brains for a solution to the problem of no CVs - and short of sending Long Island and some marine dauntlesses out to intercept shipping between truk and rabaul . . . well you get the idea.
