According to my reading of the manual "Advance" or "Defend" stance only applies when Command and Control is ON. But the manual also mentions that "Defend" stance gets a better chance to Op-Fire and some other benefits. If C&C is OFF and I set my stance to Defend, do I gain the OP-Fire benefits?

You are considered in "defend" stance with C2 off if you don't move, as soon as you move you are considered in advance stance. Most benefits accure if you are "in cover" so hat is typically teh state you want to be in whether C2 on or not - with C2 on youhave to be in defend stance in order to have a chance to "find cover". With C2 off if you don;t move you automatically have a chance to "find cover"
