- I got 33rd Sentai with 27 Ki61 Tonys. The had an experience value of 67. I put them at a quiet location (Lae) where they are not disturbed by enemy ighters and set their schedule to 80% training. As I see it now (aft approx. 6 weeks) the got more and more pilots (89 now!) with less experience. The average experience has dropped to 57! If I could pick the best 27 pilots to man all aircrafts then their experience would be 76. Any way to send the rookies home?
This is definitely a bug and you can find a workaround by Mogami in the thread Where Oh Where Have My Pilots Gone, Oh Where Oh Where Can They Be? located in the UV 'Bug Reports and Problems' forum. This workaround does not allow you to choose which pilots are returned to pool.
Hi, It is a bug and is being fixed in WITP.
If this happens in your game (to whom it may concern) Do not disband units. (this leaves the pilots on map)
You need to have two groups at same base. When 1 group has at least 1 ac under repair move this group to a new base. All the excess pilots will stay with the damaged AC. Now WITHDRAW the partial unit. The pilots go off map (and since the partial airgroup will not reform the pilots return to pool)
Mogami also posted a far more comprehensive description of the process somewhere but I can't find it at the moment. You may be able to find it using the forum search function against Morgami's posts.

- one of my to H8K Emily sqds. Has more than 100 pilots to man the 5 planes! Any possibility to put them into H6Ks Mavis (I've got 25 of them in the pool).
Spare aircraft are automatically issued to units on the map. If there isn't a Mavis unit deployed, you will have to wait for a reinforcement.

- Is it clever to put planes on training schedule or shall I train them with bombing runs on isolated enemy bases with (almost) no CAP/Flak?
Training is a slow process and will only take pilots from rookie to a maximum of average level (I forget the actual number). To get seasoned crews, I'm afraid there is no substitute for the real thing. However, training is useful to get new crews (particularly in rear area units far from the enemy) to the point where they will survive their first encounter.
