It sure isn't just about England and France (my favourites are Austria and Ottoman), what I said is to explain the idea behind original trade concept.

There is in EiH an option called Continental trade, that simulates French efforts to counter English dominance. I'm not sure if it will make into the Matrix version. Bart?
