not a bug, but i own the european version of uv (installed as v2.30, so i didn´t need a patch). Now i tried to set level bombers to skip bombing, but i can´t get them to fly lower than 1000 ft. Max altitude for all planes is 20000 ft. Lowest is 1000, except strafing. has the skipbo feature been removed and altitude been restrictet?

Hi madcat,

I have the original US version 1.00 patched all the way to 2.30 and this is how it
works for me (tried on both B-24s and B-25s):

Clicking on the leftmost arrow button will set the altitude to 100 feet.
Clicking on the middle button on the left will lower the altitude with 5000 feet but finish at 1000 feet. In case altitude is set to 100 feet this button will actually increase the altitude to 1000 feet.
Clicking on the rightmost button on the left will lower the altitude with 1000 feet but finish at 1000 feet. In case altitude is set to 100 feet this button will also increase the altitude to 1000 feet.

Clicking on the rightmost arrow button will set the altitude to 20000 feet.
Clicking on the middle button on the right will increase the altitude with 5000 feet and finish at maximum altitude specified for the aircraft type.
Clicking on the leftmost button on the right will increase the altitude with 1000 feet and finish at maximum altitude specified for the aircraft type.

Don't know if that helps but you can try to compare with your version. It would really surprise me if this works different in your program.

Regards

Hello madcat,
I also have the european version and first I thought that it might differ from the US version and that some features have been cut. But after a few weeks of playing and asking around I don`t see any differences between the two versions.

Regarding your question, skip bombing is working flawless for me. Two things to consider when you order a sip bombing mission is the experience and the moral of the pilots. In my games squadrons with experience in the 60s sometimes don`t fly where squadrons with experience in the 80s have no problems to do skip bombing runs.

Maybe you want to have a look at the thread about altitude setting for air missions from cap_and_gown:

EDIT: Sorry I am to dumb to insert an url. The thread is in the War Room on page 4 now and is called: "altitude setting for air mission"

Viel Spaß! :)
