At first everything seems to be going smoothly. Korsun Pocket appears to install normally, as does DirectX 9.0. The Adobe manual text also works just fine. However, once the the CPU is restarted and the game is openned from the desktop icon (or by any other means) it seems to be running normally after selecting "Play Game" from the main menu. Then nothing happens... Still nothings happens.... And yet still nothing happen, although the disk is still whirring along cheerfully in the drive. This is then followed by a whole lot of nothing... Then to exit the game control-alt.-delete is necessary in order to "end task," otherwise the game window sits there, mocking me, doing nothing... I've installed and uninstalled the game multiple times on both hard drives of my CPU (WinME, Pentium III, 384 RAM, with a Raedon 9700 128mb graphics card) to no avail. I've also encountered the same results on an AMD 2.0Gig setup running 98se (curiously enough) as well as a brand new Pentium IV Dell with specs many fold more adequate than required for the game. The latter two platforms yielded identical results, save for the fact that the Win 98se CPU gave a discouraging "Insert original CD" error message when, lo and behold, the original CD was indeed in there. What gives? While this game has received overwhelmingly enthusiastic reviews, having paid top-dollar for Korsun Pocket (which I rarely do, normally I wait a year or two before I purchase any game I've had my eye on) and being an avid and long-standing strategic simulation and bookcase game grognard, this rigmarole is a complete buzz-kill. I don't want my money back (yet...), I just want this critter to cooperate, dang it!
