I am pretty much only playing ...

SPMBT
SPWAW

and have on the computer.....

Legion
Medeviel Total War

But I spend most of my time on Everquest ( in the evenings)

Havent been able to find a game I like single player, have Korsun Pocket but dont really like the Game controls. I dont like to much real time stuff, I am horrible at fast clicking..... but Total War works cause the strategic part is turn based.

In regard to RTS vs Turn Based, I prefer turn based games. Hard to take the old board gamer out of me. In fact I look at computer war games as computer board games. So FPS games don't appeal to me, nor do flight or tank sims. I prefer tactical, operational and strategic turn based games the most. Although, I do like the HttR style of giving HQ's orders and then letting them carry them out in a RTS style.

I am sure I already posted to this hehe :)

Ok my current play mix would be Steel Panthers WaW but call that with a Mega Campaign only for the most part. SP just seems bland otherwise.

If my machine was able to play SPMBT and SPWW2 as well as SP3 a lot nicer, then I think I would be playing a lot of other games a lot less too.

But I play the Panzer General series when I want lightweight warfare.
I play Strategic Command when I want grand strategy, and it appears to be my PBEM/ or TCP/IP game of choice.
I also like TOAW, but I have not played it much as of recent.
I like tank sims enough to fiddle with em, and likely will play Panzer Commander on occasion.

I have a bunch of other games, but I guess the ones above would be called "the inner circle".

Mind you, that list is only relevant if we leave it in computer land.
If I had a local that would give me one day a week worth of board gaming, you would not even know me online. I would be too busy playing ASL probably.

Figured this would be as good as any thread to test my first post since the Matrix forum was hit by terrorists.

My choice games:

All Battleground Civil War and Napoleonic games
All HPS Campaign Civil War games
SPWAW
Russo German War
Vassal (not exactly a computer "game" but I spend most of my time with it)

Obviously I'm an old board gamer who likes to play "board" wargames on the computer.

Fighting Steel (with the latest FSP patch)
East Front II (would be West Front also, but the disk no longer works )
My next game will probably be Medieval: Total War (we'll see if it has any staying power )

Currently I have on my computer:
Front Office Football 2k4
Front Office Football: TCY
Space Empires 4

FOF 2k4 is the leading contender now - I just can't bring myself to play UV anymore because it's just a tease for WiTP. I think I might re-install M1 Tank Platoon 2 just to go shoot some stuff.

Well, I stay stucked to … Battleground Ardennes Deluxe The Bulge. Except that I do not succeed in playing it by now, since it does not recognize the very drive it was intalled from (i.e. R:), but the preceding one (i.e. M:). And I cannot deinstall it,nor reinstall with success. If anyone can pull me from that quagmire, *please*. MS windows XP pro SP3

Front Office Football 2007 (not so much playing the game as editing a 2008 roster file at the moment).
Call of Duty 4.
Age of Wonders Shadow Magic.
Knights of Honor.
Downloading the demo for the King's Bounty remake as I type, so that will probably be played rather extensively for the next few days.
Mercenaries 2 : World in Flames (for my 360, but it's also available for PC, so it counts ).

Man, this is an old thread! Interesting to compare, though. Of the last list

quote:

HttR
Vietcong: Fist Alpha
X2
LOMAC
Korsun Pocket
Soldiers of Anarchy
Massive Assault
EYSA
Silent Storm
SB: ToD and AotR

HttR is the only one I still have installed, and SB: Tour of Duty the only other I've played in the last couple of years.

Currently being played are;

EVE online
STALKER: Clear Sky
Trackmania United Forever
Evochron Renegades
Combat Mission: Shock Force
GG's WBtS
Sword of the Stars: Born of Blood
BSG: Fleet Commander (a superb Homeworld 2 mod)

Multiwinia will be added to that list in a couple of days.

Well, resurrecting a 4 year old thread must be somewhat of a record! I wonder if any of the ones that responded 4 years ago will give us an update, or if it's the same classics still on the list?

For me it's:

  • TOAW
  • AT
  • ACW
  • HOI
  • Football Manager

Jeeze, I own that one!

Never would have guessed so many were still playing it.

Once AtD came out it completely took me away from KP.
