Your pose seemed unnecessarily brusque and your idea of "reasonable" and mine differ greatly by all evidence. I will be a model of decorum here and continue to attempt to aid people on TO&E matters and provide links so people can learn for themselves. I would like to thank you for your efforts and offer in all humility the advice that you *are* the servant of the community as well as guardian of standards KG.

My desire is for open but civil discussion in my area of the forums. This applies to everyone who posts here, whether they are involved in current Matrix projects or not.
I have written to every member of the OOB Team, requesting that they be more forthcoming on information regarding the upcoming OOB patch. I did this on the gamers' behalf, but at this point, that's all I can do.

No censorship, but the word has been passed down from the top that Matrix' forum policies are to be enforced. I received full blessing from David to exercise my discretion in the methods to be used in doing so.

Is this some sort of cencorship again?

That's charming and ominous.

David sent me a PM asking me to relent I shall out of deference to him and have in fact been encouraging others to do so behind the scenes.

Tell you what though 'sport' why don't you go on ahead and ban me now though okay?

Afaik. you only have authority to enforce the forum guidelines as laid down in the official policy of Matrixgames.

Look Rune I was wrong to be so snappish especially since I have been preaching forebearence elsewhere. Let them "work their magic in peace". The time will come after playtesting I guess to offer criticism and hopefully praise.

I still disagree with the alterations being made in silence as in theory this is the LAST scrub but greater powers than me made these judgement calls.

I will refrain from bringing up new criticism and queries and shall do my best to be the model of decorum in my conduct here.

regards,
sven

Rune, after my conversation with David, he made it clear that I have the authority, with his support, to enforce the forum standards within pretty wide parameters. In other words, as I define them. Banning members is something else--this is why I won't be deleting any posts.
Now, after these last postings, I can easily see why the OOB Team isn't bothering in responding--these are irrelevant to the thread, are taking up space , and are contributing nothing to the development of the game.
I see now who has an agenda--it isn't the team, and it isn't me. To Rune (aka JDRDragon at the Depot) and Keke, you guys need to tone down your rhetoric. Harlekwin got the message, but you two need to get it, too.

Is is possible to clear obsticles other than mine's and dragonsteeth. Like a blown up tank on a bridge, and does the Sherman Dozer have any special abilities. I have always trhought it should be able to build entrenchments, is this within the scope of the game ?

It's obviously your agenda to label any criticism as irrelevant. The OOB team has not given any quality answers (excluding RockinHarry here) to anything so far, no matter how relevant the criticism has been.

See above. I don't understand how shutting up criticism will benefit anything...

So I need to tone down my rhetoric?
I thought it was you who wanted to keep a watertight line between what happens here and what happens at the depot.
So I gather you intend to punish me for something I said on another board?

I cannot speak for Harlekwin but it is my distinct impression that he chose to wind down of his own volition, not due to any kind of zany message.

No, he did not do this of his own volition. He was put on notice by David. I will extend that to you, too. You would be well advised to follow his example.

I do not belive you carry the necessary weight to speak on behalf of David Heath, and I do not believe that Harlekwin was ever warned off based on what I was told.
If he wishes to warn me off he shall be welcome to do so.

I was put on "notice"?

KG that was NOT the tone of the PM I recieved by my reading. I was very concilliatory and it was a request not an order. Now had I ignored his request there likely would have been consequences but please stop trying to speak with an Austro-Hollywood accent on the matter.

Yes, Yes but what are your thoughts on if a tank has a blade should it have special entrenching abilities ?

You mean if it should be able to entrench faster and thereby gain that little pile of dirt around itself.
Yes it should, and afaik Engineer tanks do get this ability (as do engineers). At least they did in SP3.

Yeah they did in SP3 and I seem to see engineers dig faster in spwaw.

Well sort of, I was thinking of the tank being able to make a small dirt wall, an be able to push destroyed vehicles off of raod and bridges.

Being able to bury MG pillboxs in dirt would be cool

This is unfortunately out of the question (though you could use the editor to make a weapon in slot 4 called a "sandpile" with a huge HE and warhead, an ammo loadout of 1 value and a range of 0)

Small dirt walls and clearing terrain is out of the question too. THAT would require a code rewrite that I´m not sure the game can stand.

um, IIRC you may be mistaking italian engineers and their demolitions "torpedoes" for a submarine.....

I'll look into it, and if there is a sub I KNOW this is a new thing.

Couldn´t find a sub. Did find a crusier with a 152mm gun though

¨What slot number of the OOB did you find it in?

Are you looking at the 8.x OOBs?

I would disregard it as it is not really germaine to a land combat game in 99.9999999999% of cases.....

This is still in the OOBs, classed as an LCS. A naval unit, in case you didn't notice. It's a scenario design tool. You guys DO support new scenarios being developed, don't you?
