Hey guys,
I'm pretty new so sorry if I step on sore wounds.
I'm currently playing the Long, Long Road to Victory Campaign and have reached the Hurtgen Forest part. I was trying to relieve the force at Bovington when I notice two Sturmtigers in the north.

Now my question is, what the hell were they doing there? From what I've read on Sturmmorser Tiger SP Gun, there were only 10 ever used in combat.
Here is a bit on there usage. 10 used in East with first action August 1944. Formed 3 companies the 1000, 1001, 1002. The 1000 and 1001 were used in the Ardennes offensive with 4 tanks each.

Company 1001 saw action in western Eifel. In March 1945 their last action was east of Bonn.

Company 1002 saw action in the Reichswald area. In March 1945 they moved to Rheinberg.

Is the map in the right theater for this? I don't know much about the different historical campaigns and battles. I see the Ardennes mentioned and I think that might be the right area. I just don't know.

Also with this information, it brings up a point that someone else brought up. The Sturmtiger doesn't seems a practical unit for selection in battle or even in a lot of scenarios.
There were vents around the gun tube that allowed the exhaust to go forward. It took about 10 minutes to load the 761 lb. shell. There was a crane that was used to help load the rounds into the vehicle. The range was around 5,900 meters.

It consumed fuel at the rate of 2 gallons per mile.

10 minutes to load the shell? And this thing was attacking my infantry at 1 and 2 hexes. They did eventually swarm the beast anyway, but it seems the unit is modeled inaccurately. It is more of a SP Gun but is used as a tank.

Well I may be way off base. Anyway, if I have other such comments with regards to units, where should they go? Is that what the OOB and TOE stuff is about? Forgive my ignorance.

I'd have to review this one again, Minefield. Its been a long time since I did the scenario. It could be an error on my part, probably my first one ever!

No, you are not stepping on my toes with such comments. I appreciate them. It sharpens me and helps me do better the next time around.

I'll check it out...WB

In the first scenario of the Hurtgen series, in the first 10 turns or so I lost more guys to those freakin' mines that I did to enemy fire!!! Now I'ved learned to lay some mines down of my own!!! And speaking of that, if my opponent trips a mine, will I see that in the video replay?? I'm thinking I should, but I have yet to see any explosions. Maybe he's just getting lucky!!

Yes, with that name you are already well known around these parts... I would design a scenario without you!
