Saw this link over at The Wargamer:

http://www.lostbattalion.com/default.html

I looked at the game and thought it looked pretty cool, kinda gave me the feeling of seeing a slice of SPWAW in hardcopy form!

Have to say though, I thought that the price tag of $60.00 seems very steep!

The info in the description mentioned that "This game is a complete reworking of the popular PANZER, 88 and ARMOR board games by Yaquinto Games". I being an old time board player, never had any experience with it.

I'd like to hear what you guys think of this and if any of you ever played the old board version. So c'mon you Board gamers out there, any opinions or recommendations.

This means you Les_the_Sarge !
Really would like to hear your input on this.

JD

I don't know... prices in that market have risen as sales volumes have fallen - one consequence of so many playing computer wargames instead. Looking at the blurb, you do seem to get a fair bit for your money, and it looks a very attractive package.

It's been years since I did any miniatures gaming, but the cost of a rules-set (even with all the cards, markers, bases etc) was always peanuts compared to the cost of the miniatures and the stuff (and time) needed to paint them.

Good Points.

I also think that with the rise in popularity of the collectible miniature games like Marvel's hero clix, D&D's minis etc..., that a wargame type would be produced. Similiar I guess to the CCG market's popularity and the creation of Battlecards, which BTW, I got last year and quite enjoyed!

ANother miniture game that has a populare following are the warhammer and the warhammer 40k games produced by Games Workshop. I am a player of these games and will say that they are an awsome hobby and enjoy them.
