I have noticed in UV when a fleet comes into base, it automatically refuels it. Well what if you don't want it to automatically refuel, ie, I have only 5000 fuel on Lunga and I don't want my stupid transports with their long endurance eating up all my fuel, only to leave my carriers with no fuel. Is there any way one can stop a TF from automatically refueling? Because this is really one of those annoying things that really hampers operations....

There is a new option to prevent refueling in WitP

Along the same line, I hate it when a TF that has PCs, SCs, or other short ranged ships in it refuels every day on long missions. Instead of traveling 6 hexes per day, the TF only travels 5 and then refuels. Sometimes one hex short of destination.

Nomad, PCs and SCS were designed as coastal escorts, so what do you expect? Simply don't use short-legged ships on long missions, use DDs instead.

I've complained about this a long time ago, too. I want to save the precious fuel at frontline bases for PTs (5000 fuel won't refuel a CV TF anyway). Sadly, there is no way in UV to prevent auto-refueling. I'm glad it will be optional in WitP.

And how do you get them there? They have to take that voyage sometime. Besides, even escorting APs or TKs from Rabaul to Gili Gili they refuel every turn. Is that too far to ask them to go?

Apparently it is in UV, dunno if this is historical or not. IIRC the majority of the PCs/SCs displaced between 150 and 450 full load - not much space for fuel storage there. Besides, is it so critical that the convoys with PC/SC escort do 'just' five rather than six hexes per day?

These PCs and SCs are shortlegged, but their fuel usage is based on the round trip. I have found that if ya make the destination base.....or a base close to the destination hex....their home base, fuel usage figures act better.
