This maybe a Q for the OOB forum, but I´ll probably get a faster A here:
In the German OOB there are double copys of a few versions of the PIII tank. The only difference is the avail date, rarity and icon as far as I can see.
The tanks are as follows: PzKpfw-IIIj (s), III-j, III-m and III-l.
Do they just represent different cammos?
Well, it got me thinking at least

I noticed this also and after brief studying, it seems that they are there just for presenting different camos...so I think modifying the OOB to use just one slot per PzIII later version instead of two, I can move more important equipment from Czech OOB to german OOB... Colonel von Blitz

Well, that's my doing!! I wish the oob's were bigger, I could have done more, just got tired of having cammo vehicles before Feb. 1943!! When I came up with the idea, it was still called Steel Lightning(anyone remember that?). and there was more than enough room in the oob's, it took a couple of months to do all the entries, and make the corresponding icons. Unfortunately now, we need the space

The lack of space in the OOB´s is an obvious problem. It´s strange somehow that Paul and the other great men and women (?) that made this game true were satisfied with solutions such as putting german equip in the czech OOB etc. Well, that´s probably something they were forced to do anyway, but I wonder what it would take to expand the maximum number from 250-255 in all different categories. It´s too bad that were limited to 255 as a cost for a unit, a Maus tank for example, and numerous other stats, not to mention the 250 limit for weapons and units (100 or so for formations).
This limits the options when one edits the game´s OOB´s too much!
Well, now we have four extra units to add...
