Looks great. Also looks like a lot of the EIH political rules and territory divisions are being used. Here's hoping that the original rules will eventually be implemented too. Never got into EIH to much but might have to now. Won't stop me from buying it.

Looking good.

But as someone said with the last screenshots; it's hard to see the difference between garrisons and corps if I understand the counters correctly...

Thanks Marc, it looks great

We wait for your next post and news.

P.S. I thought you said something about changing the counters, but the troops counters look the same since the last time?!?!?!

Some thoughts:

Screen shot #1
looks great. It looks like setting up a pbem game will be easy.

Screen shot #2
looks nice but since I don't know what the icons means I can't really comment on it.

Screen shot #3
-This is the same one posted earlier.
-Corps and garrison counters look the same
-Bucharest is in the wrong area
-The forset terrain obscures the name of cities
-The size and defenese value of cities can't be determined from this map view.

Screen shot #4
From looking at #4 and #5 I'm guessing that the shading of the minor states indactes control and state of control. Using shading to mark control is a good idea. Conquer states are shaded and have a conq marker where as freestates are not shaded and have a Free States marker. IMO I think it would look better if all controlled territories were shaded the same color, Home nation provences, ceded provences, Free States and Conq minors. Also the shading colors don't look good. What appears to be the shading color for France is the shade of green use for Turkish corps in the board game.

colors to use
France light blue
Britian light red or dark pink
Austria white
Spain yellow
Prussia true blue
Russia pine green
Turkey sea green

-also Parma appers to be appart of the minor state lombardy. Why does it have a different shading from the rest of it?

-Where did Salzburg go?

Screen shot #5
-Fleet counters look real good
-corps counters should be the same size as the fleet counter to differentiat them from garrison counters.
-Where did the blockade boxes go? They have usefull info like port defense value and trade value.
-national and provencial border look too much the same and could be easily confused by those no familiar with the game. Area borders look fine.

I don't mean to come across negative. I'm just trying to point areas the may need to be fixed. Considering what you guys did with KP I expect the finished product to be good.

Yeah, upon further review of the screenshots, I also noticed some of the things that Hoche has already pointed out.

Every city looks like it either has 1 spire or no spires. Spires are how you tell city size and therefore factor capacity.

I didn't notice any fletches on any of the cities, although there was a unit right on top of Const. so I couldn't really tell there. How are we to tell, by looking at the map, how big the city is (spires) and what it's defenses are (fletches). Is this in the game? I hope so cuz it's a big part of the map/game.

Also, I can't read most of the city names cuz of the dark font on the dark terrain. This really is important, especially cuz squinting at a comptuer screen isn't my idea of a good time.

Overall, it seems to me that it would have been easier and better to just have put the original map and counters in the game, but then I guess the people who have never played EiA would start to complain and yadayadayada.

Is there any way to make the land unit conters wider? Hard to read. Also, when they are moved into a space, are they going to block the name of the city they are in? Cuz that will also suck.

When I originally looked at these screenshots, I thought, wow, this really looks good, however, upon further inspection and really taking into consideration playability, this map is not getting on my good side.

Interresting, most people so far are asking to have them even smaller.

To me size is of little importance as long as corps counter are easily distringuished from garrison counters.

Although the counters on those that you have worked has good appearance, I think that it would be a good idea to offer the possibility to play with similar counters to those of the original game. It is more important the clarity that the appearance

PS: EiH it´s not a good idea, I think

I'm all for EIH, just allow it as options. The more options at the start of a campaign the better as far as I'm concerned.

Wouldn't that make the whole naval thing, just a little bit, too simplistic? :P

Parma is a separate minor as indicated by the Spanish control of Parma while France controls Lombardy.

After playing the abandonware third reich for bits that map looks like candy. I was suppose to play EiA once but was short of time so its great to get a second chance.

The map and the counters raise som questions but I guess once you play it som you get to know it better. Maybe the icons are moddable so one can change them if needed. I hope the battles are interesting to watch.

Looks great to me. The Forrest graphics are great. I hope there is some kind of mouseover text to indicate parent country and status as one scrolls over the regions?

I like the counters

One thing....on the game set-up screen, everyone except Napoleon has a pathologically narrow cranium. The look like ex-premies (former premature infants).
