Yes, the Matrix elves are busy putting it all together, fueled by coffee and whatever other substances are needed to get it done. Keep your fingers crossed that there won't be any gremlins (or goblins) lurking on the wings.

How long have these elves been under the influence of other substances now?

Sorry, no patch AFAIK, just one massive DL. There will be disks available from some people on this Forum however. So if you really want it (and you will!) there will be more than one way to get it.

Strange. New exe, oob's and scenarios would make just 20-25 megs compressed...
Compare that to the 400+ meg full game and all the troubles people have been experiencing with the current d/l sites.

Yeah, I don't understand the logic behind the full D/L only.

To me, Panzer Leo's H2Hfr made 7.1 a far more different game than 8.0 did, and yet was accomplished in a much smaller than full D/L (63,741KB for H2Hfr versus 430,738KB for 8.0).

Unless 8.2 changes 8.01 a lot more than H2Hfr changed 7.1, I'm mystified why there isn't just a patch.

I'd be happy if it'd just get here, no matter how the download is packaged....

I've been putting off starting up a new long campaign until 8.2 arrives, and it has seemed like forever since it was announced that it would be here "soon"...

As he paced the floor in anticipation,
Will it be a Full Download?
Will it be worth the trepidation ?
Or will it be a small load ?
A patch perhaps?
that all can download,
Worry, worry, fret, oh chaps,
Go ahead and make it a full game,
I need another one on my main frame.

Any Mouse

If it is a full download, it's not because they just want to mess with us. Then it's a change to the mech.exe, and that will be REALLY interesting to find out just what they did.

H2Hfr also apparently changes the mech.exe, so I don't see why this should require a full download: "This will overwrite your existing version (mech.exe) !!!"

from: http://www.theblitz.org/member_sites/panzer_leo_spw@w/spwaw_h2h_modrework.php

I mean it's not the end of the world if it's a full download, I just don't understand why a patch (even if it's the size of H2Hfr) wouldn't have sufficed.

PS Yes I realize no one is forcing me to download or play 8.2. It just seems weird to me that 8.0/8.2 are not just patches.
