Still awaiting my copy (should have by tomorrow). Can someone list out the scenarios that are included in UV – or point me to a link? Additionally, it would appear that #17 is the favorite, why is that? Is it because it is the longest/most complete.

Thanks,
Barkhorn.

Not sure of any link listing the scenarios but #17 and #19 are the two longest. Both are a bit ahistorical but I believe #17 less so.

You have a Coral Sea scenario and then several at the time of the Guadalcanal campain and then some in 1943. The last ones are only a challenge on the Japanese side as Allied had at the time technological, numerical and experience advantage.

And then you have the long scenario. One starting after Midway & Coral Sea (so with far less CV for both side in 1942), one unhistorical where the Japanese have taken PM in May 1942 (and no Midway) and then the two favorites of the players for PBEM: 17 & 19.

Both are from 1st May 1942 to 31st Dec 1943. There will be no Midway (at least outside the map, you can of course lose your CV). Scen 17 is rather historical IMOO, that is if the Japanese redesigned their startegy on 1st May 1942 to concentrate on the South Pacific.

Scen 19 is far more unhistorical and assumes that Hitler has beaten the USSR and so more IJA troops are available for South Pacific and also that the Japanese pilot training and plane production have been increased. Seems to me that plane replacement is increased by 50% and that replacement pilots are far less bad. It changes a lost of things.

Thanks Amiral. Guess it's best to start w/ the Coral Sea then?

Barkhorn.
