I could play the game for awhile (a couple of scenarios, and a campaign game) but now the game will lock up on me for some reason. I'm running win xp home version and have not changed anything since I installed the game.
Anybody got any ideas?

As always, its a process of elimination issue.

Can you burn your download to cd?
If yes, try installing it on another friends machine.
Examine if your download to see if it is "damaged".

Don't assume it is your OS at fault, as a lot of us use XP without difficulty (I am one).
Is it up to date? Are your video/graphics/sounds playing software programs all up to date.

Then there is hardware. We all know that most of us have unique hardware permutations.
It might be a hardware issue.

I hope one of these prompts maybe a thought that might be closer to helping :)

Caseyf: Shut down anything running in the background, ie virus checkers, mail programs etc. you don't need to worry about that stuff when playing against the AI anyways. SPWAW is a memory hog and demands all the attention. If that dosen't help try opening the case to let CPU cool off (check for dust/lint in fans inputs) HTH

This game runs my CPU (2.4 gig) hotter than any other application. This includes online stock car racing which is very demanding. Chief say, check that out.
