When can we who are not blessed to live in an area that has dsl or highspeed internet that must order a CD pre-order so that Matrix can have enought produced to meet the demands of the hungry hoards of people demanding the game NOW NOW NOW.

Break out the tear gas quick......

Some almost might not be able to afford it.
You have to remember its still twice or three times as expensive for us people in the underdeveloped regions of the country.

I once downloaded IBM's entire DB2 package for Linux over a 56k dial-up with real throughput at about 44k. A few 100MB's. Took about 8hrs or so, but eventually did get it all.

Do you actually live in the city of Little Rock? They don't have it in the biggest city in Arkansas? (It is right?...)

I live just outside the city limits of Little Rock by about 200 yards in a small incorporated town named Shannon Hills. It is so that my son does not have to go to the Little Rock schools which are very bad.

So Any Idea on when we can preorder.

Mr. itfightr:
You have a valid point. I live in the sticks in North Florida, since retirement.
And I keep telling myself how wonderful it is too live in the country, and how lucky I am to have cable tv.

Still it would be nice to hear a real answer, but I bet this thread is headed directly towards a beer commercial.

No high speed access in the near future. That is what the TV cable representative tells me about twice a month, when I call them. Just after I watch my monitor dribble along trying to download a 20 mb file.

Question: if a person pays for the download and the download fails, does he have to pay again? How many attempts at a DL do you get for your money?

Even if I had dsl, the lines in may area - cable included - do not have a great reliability record. I'd hate to lose my money on a partial download...

I think I got lost driving through there once. People have nither street lights nor street signs. If you werent born and raised there, god only knew where you were going.

You have the possibility to order a CD on demand once the game is released.

I lived in West Little Rock about 10 years ago (1992-95), I thought it was real nice. New houses, shopping, roads and restaurants. Of course I didn't have kids back then but there seemed to be some real good private schools (seemed like every church in town had its own school).

There are lots of private schools in Little Rock the cost though is very high and most of them have a long waiting list to get into. The school where my sister sends her kids is $1500.00 a month plus books and supplies adding another $150-$200 a month.
The schools may bite but it is nice to live here. I have lived in many other places like Houston,Dallas,Memphis,Cincinatti,St Louis,Baltimore,Kansas City and several others and This is better than most. I just live a little too far out to have broadband and it really sucks.

Dish Network and other Satellite TV services now have broadband via the satellite. They are slow on the uplink side but unless you doing something like playing Everquest online or uploading files to work via a VPN or something, that's not a big issue. Download speed on those is broadband caliber.

You would think that you could order or install a Dish Network and other Satellite TV services anywhere in the continental United States. WRONG

The price of living in a very quite place, no traffic, no sirens, and no gunshots. Very peaceful, yet very isolated.

My parents live in the deep woods of Maine (northern Maine) and they have satellite. Seems to work fine.

I have called all the local satellite companies in my area (just one). They tell me I live in area without access (dead zone).

Now, I started thinking (really hurts my mind), and wonder if access means a gyro-synchronous satellite in a geostationary orbit, or some ground antenna network.
I do not know.

My Dad lives right out side of Macon, Georgia and still does not have cable. I acually do Sat Comm. (or use to) for a living. not sure what the "dead zone" they are talking about is but i guess you could be right on the edge of a footprint or something. Anyway...It is kinda the opposite for me. As soon as I get this game I am cancelling my cable modem. They just kept raising rates and rising rates. Comcast has raised the rates $20 in the last 18 months. that is alot to pay when all I do is check e-mail and look at this board. (well ofcourse, I am at work now )
