As I can understand it is possible to open a .zip file in secure pbem several times and play the turn until the result is ok. How can you detect that. I think I read somewhere that it was possible to see how many times the files are opened. How?

The easiest way is to use the PBEM Helper program available here: http://www.sci.fi/~fuerte/pbem.htm It's much more convenient that opening and copying all the zip files, playing the turn, then rezipping and sending, etc. It can show how many times a turn has been opened, which is a good indicator that something is fishy (but not certain evidence of cheating). There is no sure way to guarantee against cheating.

IIRC (if I rembember Correctly), you can use one of the "F" keys (once you have started your turn)to show how many times your opponent has started the game. For instance if you are player one, and you are playing turn 8, the opponent should have started his turn 7 times.
You can experiment, or maybe someone remembers which key it is and will post it.
Merry Christmas

Key is '2'. But it only tell sabout log, it can't tell you how many times game is deleted and installed. You just have to trust your enemy mosh

The easiest solution is just play people you know or someone you know you can trust. You can usually tell after a game or two.
That PBEM manager I don't know much about, what I do know about it is the guys I play against and use it somethimes send me the same turn twice. What I like to do is name the zip file the same as my opponent, with the turn # beside it and you can never get mixed up. Really comes in handy when you are playing more than one person.
Merry Christmas.

I'm going to download that Helper and give it a try. Seems very useful. Cheers Warrior.

It's extremely convenient. Of course, you need to get your opponents on the bandwagon, too.

I believe hitting the number 1 key at the start of your turn give's you the info on start's and stop's but I still think there are way's for someone to cheat. I generally get a feeling when I play someone if he's on the up and up.
