Any ideas on the best altitude for search and asw aircraft ?

Cap & Gown`s FAQ up top has good info on this subject, as well as on CAP`s and strike packages altitudes. I printed it out.

In my experience he is pretty accurate, and I know he has done extensive testing.

Right here under the " New thread" bar on the top left as you log into this UV Forum page...blue arrow pointing to it in upper left, it says top FAQ Cap_and_Gown.

I vary my altitudes between 1000 and 5000 feet. Set the squadron on about 50-60%. If your base is really infested with subs-load up the base with American heavies or bettys and nells depending and set them all on about 60% ASW. I like 1000-3000 feet but there are many opinions. You will start to nail subs pretty fast-espcially those withing five hexes or so. Rinse and reapeat as needed.
