So I've heard, but also have been told that you have to play against a sausage to achieve that

I seem to remember someone saying that if you achieved a 2:1 ratio in score, the game would end. I take it thats going to be *very* difficult

That is true and its not... It depends on what year.

In 1943 the margin is 4:1 in points
In 1944 the margin is 3:1 in points
IN 1945 (and later) the margin is only 2:1

The game is then scored: Decisive Allied Victory to Decisive Japanese Victory according to the points and how many A-Bombs the Allies have used (2 is ok, 3+ lowers your victory level).

In all reality Japan can ONLY win by lasting longer than they did historically.

Are there additional Japanese kill multipliers such as in PacWar?

From the manual:

quote:

During 1944 Japanese kill points are multiplied x 1.5

During 1945 Japanese kill points are multiplied x 2.0

Nope. The Japanese just score points for less Allied units (ground) killed - roughly 2:1). Ships and aircraft are all the same for both sides. So only in men does japan get an advantage.

I hope so, otherwise it will be pretty easy for the allies to get 2-1 in 1944.

I would like to see it start out easier for the allies and get harder, just the opposite of Japan.
Keep victory conditions the same for Japan and make the allies the inverse:
2-1 in 1943
3-1 in 1944
4-1 in 1945+

Naah.. Remember Japan will be the one scoring most of the points in 41 and 42.. 43 will be fairly even so Japan will keep their lead.. So I think they have it right...

*I* always hated 1944 in PacWar when the Japanese got to use Kamakazis on my aircraft
carriers. Hope Kamakazis or CAP or AAA are different in WiTP.
