I just came to a stopping place in my planeside art replacements-If you want to post them up, just tell me where to send them!

Pretty much every IJ plane's new,
Most allied early war planes are new too. Alot of the allied originals were good, however. If I can ever round up good profiles of the transports, add those in later.

Here's a little sample:

P-36
C6
Blenheim I
Ki-36

Hey did you get a couple of the Japanese plane pics from "Aces of the Rising Sun" by Henry Sakaida? I recognize that last Japanese plane. Its saying that the plane was produced with the donations of some private fund, correct?

Actually that text came off a Ki-27..not sure if it was from Aces....I can't find my copy right now, or I'd check..

I just added it to that Ki-36 to conceal the fact that the original was a North Vietnameese Ki-36-and It looked nice.....creative license-lol...

Pretty much every one I did I got by a great big lot of image searches- My scanner quit working a long time ago.....

Tenzan, I'd be interested in your art file, email should be in profile or you can email it to Spooky at his email listed at his new site & he'll host it so others can download it. From your sample, I liked the P36 much better than whats in the game. Where do all you guys that do these art upgrade files, get them from? I know some like the ship art files are from model boxes.

For the IJN ships : extract them in your "War In The Pacific/ART/JapShip_Back" folder
For the planesides : extract them in your "War In The Pacific/ART/" folder

No, No, No!
Judging from those great banners he does-Subchaser has talent! I'm just a copy&paster with patience and bandwidth for protracted image searches! No competition at all...It is fun to learn neat tricks on paint programs by whipping this stuff up, though..I'd probably never gotten around the functionality of my trusty-or rusty? PaintShop4 (yes, I'm serious)if it wasn't for games-

Ok...so, enjoy for now-I'm working on the Allied ships..It's a pain in the butt...there's tons of them!

The A_Planesides might get updated in the future, the J_Planes...well, they're about there-unless I find transports somewhere

J_Ships-I might add aux vessels much later

Thanks for hosting Spooky!

Installation notes
quote:

Okay-first BACK UP your JapShip_Back folder (So you can put the originals back if you want)..Then Unzip the ships into the ART/JapShip_Back folder, overwriting when asked.

On the planesides-Rename the originals or back them up (I did mine as A_PlaneSide_Old-for instance, and just Unzip to the ART folder.

Basically, for the Ships to work, they just need to be in the AlliedShip_Back or JapShip_Back folders, Planes need to be in the Art (Parent) folder-The 'tricky' part is making sure you don't overwrite the originals without backing up the originals-but, it's not that hard to do...Just rename, or backup the folder...I made a backup folder where I copied all the originals, for instance.

No talent here, just a fresher version of Photoshop obviously

Tenzan, looks like we’re working on the same things simultaneously, may be we should differentiate our spheres of responsibility, you concentrate your efforts on ships, I take care about planes stuff. How about that?

Sure thing-I pretty much had those planes done whilsh waiting for WITP came out...heh, kept me from hitting refresh on the forum every five minutes..I' just thought I'd share 'em since I had them done..Feel free to use any of those profiles that are at Spooky's now if there's any in there that you need-I have the originals if there's one that you want to use, just let me know.

Ships..man, no kidding...just finished up BB Tennessee...took me all day, thereabouts. Had to practically re-draw it.
