Is there anyway to manually pause the game while it is running (for instance if I want to catch the report of sighting before the game moves to the next item)? These reports pop up and get pushed off the screen by other events very quickly during the turn resolution phase. There is probably an obvious shortcut key I am missing but I could not find this in the manual.

After the turn ends, you can read all about sightings by clicking on the intelligence icon, on the top of the screen. Either way you reading during the turn, or when your turn comes up next, there really is no difference. Hope this helps.

Appreciate the advice SunDevil. However, is there no way to pause the game during resolution phase? Sometimes I would prefer to pause and digest the info as it happens and the map is in front of me.

On page 16 in the manual (acrobat page, not actual manual page) you will see a list of keys that used in the game. I did not see anything mentioned that would help.

Maybe in a patch?. In the large campaigns, the combat replay lasts for quite a bit, and there are all of this distractions, phones, work, wife, cats, birds, real life; you know...

If you get distracted from the execution of the turn the game will pause at the next combat report (assuming you have them on) until you click the button or hit 'escape'.

And if you look closely the reports have a scroll bar you can use to find ones your missed.
