Digital download with the option for CD on demand and Box on demand (from August on). No idea about the file size yet.

Our image is about 120MB right now (Compressed) BUT we've got some sounds to add as well as other items (manual etc.) BUT I would not think there would be a whole lot more ??? (We could reach the 200MB BUT as Marc said, we're not final yet!

Thank you

I HOPE this is a freudian slip, but I fear it is just a general comment on when matrix games in general will be available as described...

I believe you're right! Even though I believe we are close, there is still a lot that needs to be done such as manual, boxes, etc. (I realize that Digital Download doesn't require the boxes). Just trying to say that even if I were done today, it might still be difficult to get this thing out in August (BUT not impossible).

Sorry, guys!

It's just difficult for me to predict what I've done wrong so far and how long it will take me to fix it :-)

Thank you

OK, I assume it was a freudian slip and I understand Mashall doesnt want to say a date to dont get bite again if they dont do it and it is difficult when you find in the last minute something is wrong.

So take you time, without pressure I think it is impossible, and do it right.

Well, the manual it is not necesary, we can learn by ourselfs but if you have a PDF added to the digital download could be great to know about those little changes in the rules.

I can see the dust of the troops walking to my line of battle

One more question....

How will you treat the bidding in the original realese??

Will be able to modify the VP with the result of our bidding??
Or you will implement a pre-start option where we can vote for the optional rules and bidding at the same time or in 2 phases?

Sorry for it, but I think it is an important question Marshall.

Million thanx for your time and your team job.

There are a couple of other threads on this Ardilla. Bidding is not part of 1.0

You will have to work it out with your opponents.

Yes, I read and knew that it is not part of the version 1.0 the bidding system.

BUT, I just asked if we can add, at least, the biddings to the final VP at the start of the game, because if we play without the bidding increment the Grand Campaing Game it will be not like a real game and probably, 99% of the games GB or FR will win, or both.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Most games tend to have a "you have won - do you wish to continue" option when you reach your goal. maybe this is the solution? I.e. the possibility to continue a campain even when VP goals are met?

Yes, but this doesnt solve the problem, if France needs without bidding 400 VP at the end of december 1815 or before, the game will finish maybe before this date if FR plays reasonably well or the other players fail to stop france or doing diplomacy among them.
either for GB.

So, in a normal game, FR should start with 400 VP to win PLUS the bidding, that could be from 20-40 easily...so this makes a huge diference!!!

So, if we are not going to be able to change the VP at the start of the game, I sugest that MG increments this base VP for the Grand Campaing acording to the "regular" bidding on them.

P.E.
Usually the most wanted countries to play and the ones more easy to win with are FR and GB.
So, add 10% to these countries total VP to win a GCG.
Then, I guess, from my experience, RU, so, p.e. +7% to his total VP
PR, AU and SP, maybe an extra 5% and TU 3%

In our last game, we select the countries by draft and we modified the total VP for each country by this rule.
Starting at 10% for the highest VP value (FR, 400 is changed to 440), down to the higher value (GB if I remember correctly) +9%, till TU the lowest +3%

But this are just ideas to avoid playing with the total VP without changing, because IMO this will alterate the game balance.

Regards.

Frankly I don't see the problem.

Let's pretend there is no way of changing the VP in the game BUT there is a "continue to play after victory" option? Once France reaches 400 the game just continues. The declared winner in the game has nothing to do with the actual winner of the game. That is just a thing between you and your friends...

Well, seeing it that way, it will be not a problem, since we all have the original bidding amounts for each country, the PC winner will not be the same if we take into account the extra bidding amount.

It looks like a good option to start playing by e-mail with your friends.
So, at the begining the only way to play by email will be meet your friends and make the bidding and then start the game. It will be difficult with people of all over the world, unless somebody makes a program with this option to give the results of the bidding in a web page....

Maybe MG considers to make a "pool" of players, allowing by a password enter into a "game" to all 7 players and make the bids and get the results of the game, this could be a good feedback for MG, but of course it will be more work and I think they did a lot and they need a couple of months off, no Mr. Marshall and company?

Hope this is possible at least with the original release version, if we are not asking for too much effort to MG....(I would love an answer about this, thanks!)

Especially an answer to the question "will there be an option to continue past VP goals are met" is very important...

Easier way is just to have the 7 players email their bids to a nuetral 3rd party here at the forum like myself. I would then post the bids.

Will not be an option to continue after th victory goals are complete. Haven't thought of it at this point BUT may look into this in the future.

Thank you for the download option! My friends in Australia will be able to play the game sooner that way.
