ORIGINAL: Forward_March With the exception of the Allied player being a complete bungler, is there any chance that the Germans can push the Allies back into the sea? I've seen two AAR's now, and they both read roughly the same as far as a chance of German victory goes. The game looks great, and I'm very interested, but I hate to play a game where the same side will always win. Bringing in fictional German airpower seems the only way to equalize the field. Given the historical forces, there was no way for the Germans to push the Allies back into the sea. If you want a chance of doing that, you'll need to play an ahistorical variant. Given the new, user friendly, editor there are bound to be plenty of those. This situation is really a function of the scale of the battles that we are simulating. Looking at other battles that we've done, and assuming competent play on both sides, there was no chance for the Germans to reach Antwerp in The Ardennes Offensive, or for the Germans to reverse history in Korsun Pocket, and similarly no chance for the Russians to reverse the tide of Operation Barbarossa in Across the Dnepr. Yet all these battles are very exciting affairs. Doing better than your historical counterpart, even if you ultimately 'lose' the battle, is still a powerful motivation. Gregor
