I can honestly say that I have never before played a game as complex or as overwhelming (in a good way), as War In The Pacific. So in terms of comparing WitP's cost in dollars against other games, yes it is obviously more expensive. However, as has been pointed out in these very forums many times, in terms of bang for the buck WitP is far and away, THE cheapest game you'll ever buy (imho). Take this analogy: I purchased Railroad Tycoon 3 when it came out last year, I loved the 2nd one, so I figured hey the improvements HAD to make it a better game, right? I paid $49.99 plus the 8% NYC tax, so it was like $54 total. After MANY fruitless attempts to get the game to run without crashing, I think I finally ended up playing the game for a total of maybe 8 hours. It now sits on my shelf gathering dust. On the other hand I paid $49.99 for Uncommon Valor direct from Matrix (the boxed version) appox. a year ago. I can tell you that for at least 7 of those months, it was the ONLY game I booted up on my machine. So far, having paid $70 and change for WitP, the circumstances are exactly the same. I expect that this game will be the ONLY game played on my computer for at least the next 8 months and probably quite a few more. In fact, I downloaded SPMBT v.3 the night it was released and have yet to even run the install program. So in the end, obviously only YOU can decide if this game is worth the cash, but I can say that for myself, this game is worth a great deal more, probably on the order of 5 or 6 times more....thank goodness I got it "on sale" !!
