ILCK, I both respect and detest my Japanese enemy--now, if you're playing Bruce's campaign, he intentionally made this a "hard" campaign. I usually play the long WWII campaigns, and I'd recommend that you try one at some point. As for point 1--yes, you must sometimes kill them to the last man. Point 2--the Jap snipers are good; again, you just have to kill them by whatever means available. Point 4--against infantry, the M3 Stuarts, the 75mm GMcs, and even 37mm ATGs (using HE canister rounds) are very effective. Point 5--upgrading the MMGs to regular line infantry, esp. in this campaign, may be a good idea. In 8.2, the USMC MMG and HMG sections have either Thompson or Reising SMGs as secondary armament. They need to be stacked with a rifle squad for best use in jungle fighting. An alternative is getting a few .50 cal M2-HBs--the only problem is, they are not very mobile. (Historical commentary: it would've saved many lives had the M1 Garand and Bazooka been part of the USMC's TOE in 1942. The USMC high command's conservatism is partly to blame for this. The Springfield was more rugged, and it was feared that too much ammo would be wasted with the semi-auto M1 Rifle. Thankfully, they saw the necessity of a higher rate of fire for line infantry and an increase of the size of the rifle squad in 1943. )
