Has anyone been acquainted with this scenario disease: Notable symptoms: Purchased units do not appear at map edge, the appear in "defend" mode, with reaction turn 99.
Consequence: The units in question don't stay in place, whatever reaction turn they are given.
Cause: Unknown. Please, please.... I am working on one of the coolest scenarios ever, no ****. If anyone knows an easy cure for this condition, let me know before I start to cry...

Sometimes, those rascals just won't say put no matter what you do. If you purchase, then load the map, troops will often not appear on the side. You will have to bring them onto the map. When they have the delay 99, they are in defend mode and have to be edited. Last resort if you absolutely must keep them motionless - for infantry, set speed to 0. For armor, the slowest is 1 since the AI will "repair" the immob vehicles. Before the above, try loading the scenario and resaving it as an assault/defend. Sometimes, that will give the AI the idea. Very frustrating but sometimes, it just is not possible to get things exactly as you want them.

Well, just wanted to say this is sorted out. For anyone in a similar situation: The problem seems to be that when battle type is changed from meeting engagement to advance/assault, all bets are off regarding reaction turns of defending units. Changing back to meeting engagemant fixes it. Won't miss this opportunity to plug my new scenario that is now ready for (alpha) testing. Part of the Collective, it depicts a Russian raid in winter 41/42. Includes ski troops and snowmobiles, and an experimental land battleship, and those are not the only things unusual in this one. So let me know plz...

Cause is well known, -at least I've informed of it: If you go back to 'BUY' screen after you've deployed troops from first purchase and mission is something else than meeting engagement your troops have reaction time as 99 and they will be at defence. So; Troops will not have that 99 and defence stance automatically if mission is to defend. This happens to both sides formations, player1 and player2.. mosh
