quote:

Overrunning naval units
If a land unit from the other side moves into a port containing any of your naval units, they must rebase. Before they do, roll for each face-down or surprised naval unit there.
If you roll a ‘5’ or higher, you keep control of the unit. If you roll a ‘1’, the enemy major power takes control of it until destroyed (option 46: partisans destroy naval units instead of taking control). Place it in the Repair pool. On a roll of ‘2’ ~ ‘4’, it is destroyed. (Options 9 & 28: Any carrier plane (and its pilot) suffer the same fate as a CV it is on.).
With the units from the overrun hex that you keep control of, you must immediately make a return to base move (see 13.4.1) and then turn them face-down. They may not embark units during this move. They can be intercepted as they rebase and must attempt to fight through from the ‘0’ box if intercepted. If they can’t reach such a base within double their range (ignoring their movement allowance), destroy them instead.
Example: Dainish naval units based in Copenhagen are unable to rebase if Copenhagen falls because they can’t leave the Baltic Sea (but the Polish ships can ). So they should be destroyed.

There is no option to destroy these ships because they can't rebase. There is no way to have the cursor let go of the ships. This effectively locks up the game.

quote:

You only pay the normal terrain cost to overrun a hex containing only naval and/or aircraft units.

Your post rises two reactions from me :

First, I wanted to tell you CWiF version 0.7.66 is not the latest made by Chris Marinacci.
The latest is 0.7.71.
Maybe the bug you talk about is already corrected in the latest. Maybe not, and after re reading the notes about the bug corrcetion at the time, there is no bug corrected for this. But I seem to remember that you could destroy a naval unit you had selected (sticked to the cursor) by pressing the delete on backspace key.

And the second is : Did the Beta test of CWiF (or let's call it MWiF if you prefer) resumed ???? This would be the best new of the the summer !!! I was beta testing Chris' version since version 0.0.30 back in 1998, and would apply to be part of the crew at once !!!

Cheers !
Patrice

You have a copy of 0.7.71

I was doing the beta also but not under the name of Mziln. If you have a copy you could email me I know several people who would appreciate it

I kept a log of all the revisions from Version 0.0.30 through Version 0.7.61.

Are you this "Patrice"

Version 0.7.61 - Supply across straits is not checked correctly. (Patrice)

If so, You sent in a lot of bug reports

(1) Thanks for the copy of 0.7.71

(2) Bug still exists in 0.7.71

(3) Others, as well as Patrice and myself, were Beta testing CWiF (Australian Design Group's version WiF). Then Matrix aquired it and has not yet resumed beta testing of MWiF (Matrix version WiF).

I suspect it will be a while before Matrix is ready to "beta" test it, but when they do they will probably call for beta testers like they have done in the past.

I did put the latest CWiF copy at
http://perso.wanadoo.fr/froon/Transferts/Transferts.htm
It is 0.7.71, and yes, there're still bugs in it, and no Chris hadn't finished correcting them at the time (last year).

Cheers,
