In a combat report where it says...

Allied Ships:

CV Essex-On Fire Heavy Damage
DD Ramsey

The destroyer in the said scenario is not destroyed correct? It was just engaged in the battle?

Hi Correct. If a ship is sunk as a result of attack it will say sunk. If it sinks after a battle you will get a message " blah blah sinks"
