Hi all! Maybe this is not the right forum, but does anybody know about sites where I can find original plans of WWII operations, regardless of the size of units involved and nationality?
I'm sure there are some vet scenario designers that know about such sources. Thanks in advance AC

I have found the imperail war museum to be very helpfull (http://www.iwm.org.uk) - althoug i am based in the uk and was working in london so i had easy acces to it. They have a HUGE archive of material about which only 10% ever goes on display the rest you have to ask for - so if you want info on something specific - and you need to be specific - contact them and they should be able to help Thanks Ubertechie

Will they ship to the US? Here we have interlibrary loans, if your local library doesn't have it you can request it from one that does. Don't knock libraries, locally here was where James Rudder (of Rudder's Rangers) worked after the war as a university president, our library is stocked with material on ranger ops. You can check for regimental or divisional histories for the units that were raised in your area, etc.
thanks, John.

I know the Patton Museum at Fort Knox, KY has a lot of military and war-related material. I don't know the status of how they check it out but I know of people that have used the reference material there.

John - dont know if they will ship to the US - you can but ask they are allways Very helpfull - I am goign there this weekend - so if i get chance i will enquire for you - if you cant wait just email them. Just be warned that some of the stuff you may want they wont send e.g. for researching my selaion campaign - i got to see the original maps - as in those form the origianl planners - quite a strange experience to look at something that Hitler oneday may have held in his hands Thanks Ubertechie
