Is anybody having problems saving games in the Long Campaign of WWII? Quite frequently when I have finished a battle and save the results, I cannot load it again to progress to the next scenarion. The screen just locks up. Quite frustrating after you have put a lot of hours into a Campaign. I never had this problem before I updated to 7.0. Has anybody had the same experience or come up with a fix?

Try deleting the steel.prf file in the MatrixGames/SPWAW/save folder and restart the game. This file has been know to get corrupt during the WWII long campaign. Your save file might be toast so you may have to restart. It also might not be an issue in 7.1 due out any day.

I've had the same problem, every time I try to load a saved game in the Long Campaign. The only thing I can do is save the game at the end of every turn prior to pressing the End Turn button, and after completing deployment for the next scenario. The game seems to load for me when saved during a scenario in the campaign, but not if saved between scenarios. Hopefully, the patch fixes this.

Thanks, I'll try removing the steel.prf file and see if that works, as who knows when 7.1 will be out? Best regards Caribcat

To all: Which versions are you running exactly ver 7.0 or the 7.1 beta or other? Any other info you can supply about computer spec's and Operating Software will also be helpful.
P.S. Final release of version 7.1 should be out sometime next week as they try to hash out online save problems and possibly this issue if it can be reproduced.

Hello gmenfan, I am running version 7.0 upgraded from 6.1 upgraded from 5.3 etc. My computer is a Dell Dimension Pentium 4 1.3 GHz and the operating system is Windows ME. It has a soundblaster compatible sound card and a 32MB 3D video card. Caribcat

I'm sending both of you the beta 7.1 patch due to the final release being slightly delayed. You'll probably have to restart the campaign but please let us know if this cures your problem.
