hmmmmm.... Being a programmer since 1977, I have seen alot.... and.... USUALLY..... (at leat since the internet has been invented..;-) thanks Al Gore) This is due to your internet bandwidth being choked and your system not being able to respond to a server. This is generally caused by what is commonly called "adware" or "spyware". This can take many forms, but generally, it is a piece of software that is running " in the background" that scans the web sites that you have been to (it looks at cookies) and sends this information to a company which sells this info to marketing companies. Examples are "Gain", "My Comet Cursor", "Bonzai Buddy", ect...there are THOUSANDS!!! Ok...here is the problem...these progams NEED to send this info to their server (that's how they are programmed)..so what they do is LOCK your system into attaching to their home server...if...during this time (about 2 or 3 second time-frame minute or so) your computer is sending to the spyware's home server, AND your computer is supposed to be responding to the server that you are trying to connect to, then the download server will think that you have disconnected and terminate the connection. In layman terms.... If your wife is nagging you to mow the yard....but you are watching the GAME WINNING PLAY on TV...she will say something to you, but since you are doing something else (watching TV, drinking beer, eating peanuts, etc) you don't answer her.... Result of not "response from you"? LOL... We all know what happens then!!! She gets all angry, and you end up spending the night on the couch!!! (btw-this was just a little joke, please don't take offense from it) Your internet server is the same. Solution????? Run an anti-spyware program. There are TONS that are free from www.download.com Two that I would suggest are Adaware and Spybot. Try these...is you STILL are getting a non-response, try running "msconfig". Msconfig is much more complicated, so I would suggest trying the anti-spyware trick first. Search Google for "msconfig" and you will get a bizillion tech tips on how to use this great little program to fix any connection problems. Good luck. If all these fail, please feel free to email me directly, and I'll see what I can do to help you.
