Actually, I left active service in 1993 after 6 years. Just re-upped in the Guard on the 1st of October. Since I have played 3 years as a 11B (infantry) and 3 years as a 19D (cav scout) I figured to try something else. I went 21B (combat engineer) and they are currently training at Ft hood for deployment. My 1sgt is trying to cut the red tape (yeah right) and get me down to Hood on this Friday so I can get brought up to speed and deploy with them sice they are short bodies.

They will be doing convoy escort duty or so i have been told.

Good luck again 2ndACR. I respect and envy your decision to return to service and deploy in a combat zone. You are doing a great deed. I look forward to your return.

Hang tough, 2ACR. Keep your powder dry and come back in one piece!

Best of Luck!

I spent five years in Nam with the 1st Cav and 5th Special Forces. You do what you must then come home. Just do not allow the war to dehumanize you as it does with most.

Hope to see you and yours all home soon.

Jim

My colleagues are out there also. As my friend said in a recent e-mail: THEY only have to get lucky once! You have to be lucky EVERYTIME! Best wishes. Good luck and return safe.

Good luck to you. Buy a bullet proof vest and other gear, I've heard the active units there are of short supply. Keep your head down!

Good luck 2ACR, stay safe and come back in one piece. Be thinking about you over there, and praying for you all the time.

Herrbear That is a great Idea the WITP matrix board should adopt his unit and send goodie packages from home to them. HMM must think more on this

Good luck and Godspeed, and do let us know if there's anything we can do for you and your unit--we'll be glad to help. BTW, will you have Internet access at all over there?
