Hello to everyone, yesterday I decided to buy this game: what a nice option is the digital download! I wouldnt have waited for the game to arrive to my local shop.

I think this is a must-buy, but I have one little complaint: the terrain textures are very ugly, its like if the graphic is corrupted; moreover its difficult to identify the miniatures when they are displayed over that background. I think you could use more beautiful colors (like green).
What do you think?

Bye!
Simone

Simone,

First, thanks for the nice comments -- I think the game is a must-buy too

In terms of the terrain, I think there is a bit of personal preference when it comes to it. You will note that all maps have drastically different terrains, so your like/dislike may change from level to level. In addition, we actually worked hard on making the backgrounds as much like real miniature tables as possible. For example, in the first battle, Thebes, we actually took photographs of the little green "sprinkles" that modellers use to cover the ground. We then used this texture in our 3D models to cover the table.

Deride,
thanks for the reply. The terrain is surely a matter of taste, and I noticed the other backrounds, they look very nice.

In a few minutes I will buy it with digital download! I hope my best friend will buy it too, so we can make multiplayer battles :)

One more question: the rules that manage this game are similar to DBM?

Simone,

The rules are based on a number of miniature rules with a few of our own twists. However, I would say they most closely resemble the DBA Fast Rules.

I agree with Simone, I too find the Thebes terrain ugly, the others are more Ok to me.
Unluckily the textures are very complex to change if one wants to mod that, cause there are 60+ bmp files with bit of graphics for the table borders, elevations, etc.. I'm personally not able to do anything more than changing RGB setting on a couple files, so ..

Maybe it's just a monitor luminosity thing, if the game has some gamma control it could look better

Maybe you can show a few other backgrounds in the games' website screenshots

Here's a collection of some screens. Here we see Egypt, Issus, Elysium, and Gaugamela.
